3rd Grade Fairytale Claymations

This year, I have had the pleasure to work with students on a claymation project. The students began this project by learning about different fairytale stories and then writing their own fairytales. We used ipods to listen to different fairytale podcasts and created a fairytale quiz for the ipod for all to enjoy. We also used our new Smartboard to animate and record voices to the famous fairytale “Goldilocks and the Three Bears.” We began the claymation process by students collaborating in groups to create their own fairytales stories. They created the characters out of clay in art class and design storyboards and backgrounds. Once all those pieces were completed, students took pictures upon pictures to show movement of their claymations.
